Day 2 Tokyo

Continue your exploration with a visit to Sensoji Temple, Tokyo's oldest and most significant temple, where you can marvel at its impressive architecture and serene atmosphere. Then, immerse yourself in Japan's rich craft heritage with a visit to craft shops such as Ginza Itoya, a renowned stationery and craft store known for its exquisite selection of paper goods, writing instruments, and artisanal crafts.
Day 3 Tokyo
Embark on a fascinating journey into traditional Japanese arts today. Begin with a unique Ukiyo-e experience, where you will delve into the world of this historic woodblock printing technique. At the Ukiyo-e Workshop, you will discover the intricate process behind these beautiful prints and have the opportunity to create your own artwork, guided by skilled artisans.
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the art of Kumihimo, the traditional Japanese braiding technique. At the Kumihimo Studio, you will learn about this ancient craft and practice braiding your own cords using traditional methods. This hands-on experience will offer you a deeper appreciation for Japan’s rich textile heritage and the meticulous skill involved in these crafts.
Day 4 Tokyo > Kanazawa
Take a bullet train to Kanazawa, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and traditional arts. Visit the historic Higashi Chaya district, famous for its beautifully preserved tea houses and traditional architecture. Enjoy a hands-on gold leaf experience, where you will learn the art of applying this luxurious material to create stunning pieces of art and crafts. Next, immerse yourself in the elegance of Kaga Yuzen, a traditional kimono-dyeing technique unique to Kanazawa. Dress in a beautifully crafted Kaga Yuzen kimono and experience the grace and beauty of this exquisite garment firsthand.
Day 5 Kanazawa
Start your day with a visit to the Nagamachi Samurai District. Step back in time to explore the well-preserved homes and streets that once belonged to samurai families. Wander through this historic area to get a glimpse of traditional samurai life and architecture.
Next, enjoy a unique temari sushi-making experience. You will learn the art of creating these beautiful and colorful sushi creations to gain insights into this charming and intricate culinary tradition.
In the afternoon, visit the renowned Kenrokuen Garden, celebrated as one of Japan's most beautiful landscape gardens. Stroll through its serene pathways, marvel at its seasonal beauty, and relax amidst its picturesque scenery. Then visit the Kaga Yuzen Kimono Center, where you can further immerse yourself in the art of Kaga Yuzen. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to see exquisite kimono designs up close and learn more about this traditional dyeing technique.
Day 6 Kanazawa > Kyoto
Take a bullet train to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital. Visit Kiyomizu temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its stunning wooden stage that offers panoramic views of Kyoto. Then participate in a traditional tea ceremony, immersing yourself in the refined art and ritual of Japanese tea preparation.
Day 7 Kyoto
Join a traditional Japanese calligraphy experience, learning the art of brush strokes and the beauty of kanji characters under the guidance of a skilled instructor. This experience allows you to explore the precision and mindfulness behind this ancient art form.
Then, head to Arashiyama, one of Kyoto's most scenic areas. Stroll through the famous bamboo groves, visit the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, and enjoy the serene beauty of this historic district. Arashiyama offers a peaceful escape with its lush landscapes and timeless charm.
Day 8 Kyoto
Discover the artistry of Japanese textiles with a visit to a prestigious workshop renowned for its exquisite handwoven fabrics. Explore the intricate techniques used in creating these unique textiles during an engaging hands-on session. Rest of the day is free for your own activities.
Day 9 Kyoto > Hiroshima
This morning you will travel to Hiroshima. Take a ferry ride to Miyajima, renowned for the stunning Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic floating torii gate, which offers a breathtaking sight. Wander around the island's picturesque landscapes, interacting with friendly deer and sampling local delicacies like grilled oysters and maple leaf-shaped cakes. After exploring Miyajima, continue your journey to the Peace Memorial Park, a tranquil space dedicated to the victims of the atomic bombing, featuring poignant landmarks like the A-Bomb Dome. Day 10 Hiroshima > Fukuoka

This region, with its abundant natural resources and heritage as a merchant town, boasts an unparalleled variety of artisanal crafts in Japan. Participate in an indigo dyeing experience, where you'll learn about the ancient art of dyeing fabric with natural indigo. Create your own indigo masterpiece, guided by local artisans who share the intricate techniques of this traditional craft.
Day 11 Fukuoka
Walk through streets lined with traditional architecture, visiting workshops of artisans crafting Buddhist altars and paper lanterns. You will also have the chance to enjoy Yame tea and sweets at a historic tea shop. This tour offers an intimate look into the town's rich cultural heritage and the people keeping these crafts alive.
Day 12 Depart Fukuoka
You will be transferred to Fukuoka airport for your onward flight.
